Time and Money – IACREOT Trade Show Delivers

A global economic downturn affected nearly every civil servant around the world, including the government officials responsible for seeing through one of the most fundamental components of a well-functioning democracy: elections. You can relate to this situation, your budget has been cut and your travel has been curtailed, and yet you are expected to produce as usual – conduct exemplary elections without mistake.

It is more important than ever to find cost savings and the time to consider available options for the equipment, supplies and services you need to run your elections. For nearly four decades, IACREOT has delivered a venue for buyers and sellers to meet and find solutions to shared concerns. Vendors from all over the election landscape come with new product offerings: equipment, updated software, voter registration tools, election management, election accessories and supplies. If you don’t find exactly what you are looking for onsite, there is a vendor ready to accommodate you with the latest on research and development efforts.

The Trade Show offers many opportunities to interact with exhibitors. The Show debuts with a Social Hour allowing delegates the time to meet one-on-one with dozens of company representatives. Participants can then make rounds to each vendor booth and attend hands-on demonstrations at various times during the Show’s official hours. IACREOT also recently established a program called ‘Vendor 101’ Sessions in which vendors from a particular industry can speak to the particular needs of their customers.

IACREOT

The International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers (IACREOT; pronounced “I–ac–re–ot”) was founded in 1971 by a group of government officials who wanted to network with fellow government officials. An organization in which elected and appointed officials and their staffs could share ideas and work together to effect change was created.

IACREOT has more than 1,500 members, representing all levels of government. International members include election officials from Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia, Nigeria, Albania, the Philippines, and the Virgin Islands. IACREOT provides members with professional resources, enabling them to better serve their respective jurisdictions, with competence and professionalism.

IACREOT offers education programs in the form of Continuing Education Credits for attending education seminars and a Chancellor’s Certificate Program in conjunction with the University of Missouri, St. Louis. This program presents topics of general interest to government officials, i.e. Law, Budgeting, Ethics, etc.

IACREOT hosts an Annual Conference and Trade Show each summer. IACREOT’s 40th Annual Conference and Trade Show will be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, June 25 – July 1, 2011.
